Christmas Season!
Merry Christmas Everyone!
Your children are learning about the story of Jesus' birth in the toddler room this month. Last week we looked inside the treasure box to find a small plastic Little People baby. Then the children looked into our Bible to find out why a baby was our clue for the week. They learned that Mary and Joseph traveled far and had Baby Jesus right alongside the animals.
After Bible Time the kids got to use stickers to re-create the scene. Everyone did a great job.
This week we will talk about the birth of Jesus again and why that is so special for us.
Have a great Christmas!

God Made the Food We Eat!
This month of November we will learn that God made the food we eat. Last week, the kids learned that God made vegetables. I tried very hard to put a positive spin on this topic and the kids seemed receptive to it.
This week the toddlers will learn that God made fruit. With the help of our surprise treasure box, the kids will uncover the clue. Then, using our Extra Large Bible, we will discover what the Bible has to say about the clue: that God made fruit, of course.
With the help of some toddler favorite songs, Fruit salad by the Wiggles and Apples & Bananas,we will thank God for giving us the food we eat.
Take a moment this week and discuss with your child where the food we eat comes from. Also, please practice the mealtime prayer before each meal. We do this simple prayer before snacktime in the toddler room.

God Made our Bodies!
Our new unit is God Made our Bodies!
The verses we will be using are Genesis 1:27 and Psalm 139: 13-16. We learned that God made our arms last week with Kristen Inskeep leading our worship time in the toddler room. This week we will focus on our hands and all we can do with them. Isn't God Awesome!

God is Awesome!
In the last two weeks we have learned that God made our ears and our nose! What would we do without those? The toddlers in room 2 learned where our ears are and our noses, and what we can do with those. We talked about listening to the sounds around us and smelling the beautiful flowers God has created.
We are working on learning "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" to help the children remember where our body parts are located. It would be great if families could practice this song with the kids so they will be ready again next week when we learn "God made our mouth".

New Bible Unit Starting
This Sunday, the 7th of September, we will begin a new Bible unit using the Heartshaper curriculum. For the month of September we will focus on "God Made My Face". The toddlers in room 2 will learn that God made their eyes, ears, nose and mouth using songs, activities, crafts, and puppets. We welcome families to share the lesson with the kids during the week to reinforce their learning experience
